I believe that each couple has their own unique needs, challenges and history. I help couples to explore how their individual backgrounds, beliefs, thoughts and behaviors may be impacting their relationship in both positive and negatives ways. Counseling provides a safe space for you and your partner to express yourself in new ways and learn foundational tools for better conflict resolution, communication and understanding.
My work with couples involves bringing mindful awareness to patterns of reaction and miscommunication, learning tools to soothe yourself and your partner, and learning new ways to communicate and enhance intimacy in your relationship. My approach to therapy is individualized to each couple. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Family Systems Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman principles.
